Ayush Ayurveda's Henna is a pure natural herbal treatment that deeply conditions the hair, adds brilliant shine, and strengthens the roots. It helps reduce dandruff, cools the scalp, and provides a beautiful natural colour — keeping your hair healthy, soft, and manageable without any chemicals.
Henna (Lawsonia inermis) has been used for centuries in Ayurveda as one of the most powerful and versatile hair care treatments. Known as "Mehndi" in traditional practice, henna is classified as a Kapha and Pitta-pacifying herb that cools the scalp, reduces excess heat and inflammation, and deeply nourishes the hair and scalp. Ayush Ayurveda's Henna is made from pure, finely milled henna leaves combined with complementary Ayurvedic herbs that enhance its conditioning, strengthening, and colour-imparting properties. Unlike synthetic hair dyes that damage the hair cortex with harsh chemicals, our Henna works with the hair's natural structure — coating and strengthening the hair shaft, sealing the cuticle, adding volume and lustre, and imparting a rich natural colour that improves with each application. It is completely free from PPD (para-phenylenediamine), ammonia, peroxide, and all other harmful chemicals — making it the safest and most nourishing alternative to chemical hair colour.
Take the required amount of Ayush Ayurveda Henna powder in a clean bowl. Add warm water, tea decoction, or amla juice gradually and mix well to form a smooth, lump-free paste of thick consistency. For extra conditioning, a teaspoon of coconut oil or yoghurt may be added. Allow the paste to rest for 1 to 2 hours before application for better colour release and potency.
Wash your hair with a mild shampoo and allow it to dry until slightly damp before applying henna. Detangle the hair using a wide-tooth comb and section it for even application. Apply a light layer of coconut oil along the hairline, ears, and neck to prevent staining of the skin.
Using a henna brush or gloved fingers, apply the prepared henna paste generously onto the hair section by section — starting from the roots and working down to the tips. Ensure thorough and even coverage of all hair strands. For grey coverage, pay special attention to the roots and areas with more grey hair.
Once the henna is applied, cover the hair with a shower cap or plastic wrap to retain moisture and heat, which enhances colour development and conditioning. Leave the henna on for a minimum of 1 hour for conditioning benefits, or up to 3 hours for deeper colour and more intensive treatment. The longer it is left on, the richer the colour result.
Rinse the henna out thoroughly with plenty of lukewarm water until the water runs completely clear. Avoid using shampoo immediately after rinsing as it may strip the freshly deposited colour and conditioning benefits — wait at least 24 hours before shampooing. For best results, use Ayush Ayurveda Henna once every 3 to 4 weeks for consistently healthy, conditioned, and beautifully coloured hair.
